Our client, a food distributor in Elizabeth, is looking for a warehouse maintenance mechanic to join their team.
Monday-Friday 8a-5p
Salary starting at $24 hour, commensurate with experience

The Warehouse Mechanic is responsible for assisting in all warehouse handling machine repairs and preventative maintenance.

The Warehouse Mechanic will work with the Building MHE to ensure all machines used in the warehouse are repaired and maintained so that they can be used in a safe manner. This includes maintaining refrigeration equipment in a refrigerated warehouse.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all warehouse equipment -to include but not limited to facility repairs, pallet jacks, forklifts, reach trucks, slip sheet machines, turrets.

• Maintain proper upkeep on all batteries for electric vehicles - electric forklifts, turrets, etc. This includes weekly watering and proper battery changing.

• Repair warehouse machinery as needed and requested by operations management.

• Operate an electric forklift and pallet jack

• Cosmetic repairs to building interior and exterior and structural property.

• Maintain an organized mechanic shop and equipment list.

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years' experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably in a warehouse environment

• Experience with HVAC, electrical, general repairs, preventative maintenance, refrigeration, material handling equipment

• Upon hire, company will assess for Fork lift certification

• Bilingual a plus
